Good day/evening to all,
I have begun a new project and am new to the procedures/materials that I will use. I am restoring a 1974 Ebbtide Lakemaster with a 1974 Evinrude Triumph 70.
Here she is:

After the "cleaning":

I am going to remove the motor and replace the soft floor and transom. Any and all help would be great!
Thanks, William

As you have probably already figured out by reading some of the other posts. We Love pictures. In order to help us have a better viewing experiance there is a method to make your pictures bigger right away instead of us having to click on the thumbnails. Here is a little tutorial.

Good luck and i will be watching your thread

Motor condition

Motor condition

Brenn:
I have not. I wanted to take that part slowly and carefully. Motor looks in great shape. Stored in fair conditions outside but nothing done to protect it. Looks to be "original" gas tank. Need to clean/flush it and the fuel line. Wanted to clean the carbs and check other places.... Only one plug wire has a bit of rust. Any tips for areas to pay attention to would be awesome. Thanks!

Sweet boat buddy. I just bought the same exact boat last week and will also be fixing it up. The only difference is mine has yellow paint versus your blue. I look forward to seeing what you do to yours. I will upload some pictures of mine and what I do to it.

Hi Bill welcome to the dry dock!

Here is a great thread for going over your motor http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=158086

Before you get to crazy on ripping all the rot out you may want to make sure your hull is supported well on the bunk trailer....you may need to add some additional bracing so you hull doesn't flex out of shape when you pull the top cap, deck, stringers and transom. Some people even build a cradle to put the boat on while working on it and you will be able to go over your trailer too while the boat is off it.

How's the fixin going? Mine's coming along. I didn't have to do any major repairs, mostly cosmetic stuff so far. Check out my post for my pictures. It's the other 1974 ebbtide lakemaster post. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Thanks Shawamba!

Thanks Shawamba!

Update! I made a mistake and my boat is a 1973. The motor is a 1974. Still finding more rot. Got a service manual and dolly for the motor. Thanks for checking in Shawamba. I'm pretty sure you'll be hitting the water before me. On my test launch the boat took in about 5~6 gallons of water in 3~5 minutes. (on the flip side, the boat floated well with the trailer attached... LOL)

Engine removed!

Engine removed!

Finally got the engine removed to see the full extent of repair needed to the transom. Now that the extra 250 pounds is gone, I can start.
