1974 Evenrude 70HP Sounds like it missfires under load

Just bought this boat on Craigslist and was told at the time of purchase it ran great.. Sooo here I am I Put the boat into the water and Started it.. Started fine and idled so far so good... Reveresed out brought the bow around and started off into the lake little under half throttle.. still doing pretty good.. Dropped to WOT And the engine acts like it wants to run right and almost does however it kinda makes a sputter as it is running .. Dont know much about boats but definatly ready to learn.. anyone know why my boats not working?
