1974 Evinrude 15 stalls after 2-3 minutes of trolling

This engine starts fine, runs well at all speeds, but will not troll at idle for more than a few minutes, then coughs a bit and dies. It starts up right away and repeats 2-3 minutes in and then dies. If I give a bit of gas just before it dies, it'll go again for 2-3 minutes then wants to die. I have it on a small pontoon boat with a separate throttle control and electric start.

Sounds like you might have a weak fuel pump or your slow speed carb. circuit needs to be cleaned. Best of luck. Rick.

hi.my advice is to clear fuel pump filter screan and when you start troling at low speed and pump your primer bulb so your carb will get fuel all the time.
this will indicate if something is wrong witch fuel pump, after that you will rebuilt fuel pump, by buel pump kit.its around 12$
