Awe Jimmbo.... you dont like my boat?:(

Thanks for the link to the articles & Engine Specs!

No Power Tilt.... Pin is in the First (Closest to Transom) hole.IMAG1045.jpg
Also it is rusted in so bad that I would rather ship it to you than try to take it out in one piece. I'm sure if I got another I could just drop it in & it would still hook us so long as the locking tabs dont get hung up on the rusted one, which means I would have to cut it out.

Sheck to see if the throttle is properly adjusted to make sure that when the control is widw open so is the timing plate and the carbs are fully open.
I cleaned the carbs a few weeks ago & believe I set or sync-ed them all closed together... the all open the same etc. The timing plate does move to full @ WOT.... However I found the stop & turned it in a couple of turns to adjust the timing.... trying to find a timing light now and fix my error and bring it to where it should be.

Think I may have done bad things.... ones that require me to use the flat bed?

Looking at new pic. Motor has been raised a bit, good. I see there is a transom wedge installed, that just makes the boat plow even more. On the frozen tilt pin. Try some penitrating oil on it. let it soak and try gently twisting back and forth. Did your adjustment the timing advance or retard the setting?

I advanced it....in an attempt to gain higher RPM's with the 17 Pitch prop. I attempted to retard to about where it was found.

Was out to test the 13 3/4 x 15 prop last night...... not what i expected. RPM's shot up quickly to 5450RPM's
It was snappy to get up on plane, but sounded like it could over rev after 10 -15 feet so Full throttle was not an option to whole shot or cruise.
However... I did like how much more responsive the Engine was... sounded happier! Still ran around the same 18-21 Knots cruising... probably faster cruising than the 17 without sounding lugged down.
Probably guna take the 15 back and show them my 17.... maybe see if they can tell me something I havent seen. Maybe borrow a 17 & try again.

Jimmbo.... you are quite knowledgeable on these Old OMC Boats. Glad to have your hobbyist info to thumb through.

I have the same engine on a 17 foot Searay. Can you tell me where you got the carb rebuild kit, please?
