Just purchased a 1978 Manatee, but don't know what model it is. It's in ROUGH shape, but the motor looks decent and it had a good trailer. Considering fixing it up, but might just re-sell, if it needs more work that I'm thinking.

How do you start a new thread on here?

Also, does anyone know how to identify which Manatee I have? I'll post a pic if that will help.

The ID number on it is MNT0780HM78H

I can assume that the MNT stands for Manatee, and the 0780, indicates the year, but the HM portion isn't helping me to identify it.

Can anyone help?

Hello to the Manatee owners here........I now have about 800 hrs on my restored 1978 Manatee.......What a great boat !! A few of my restorations, including the Manatee are here in my sig. Hope yours turns out real nice...Don

Well I never finished this one. It was going to take to much time and money so I sold it to a guy who has big plans for it. Very happy it went to someone who will restore it. He says he will send me pics when it is done so I will post here. I bought a 1973 19' center console Glastron witch I just poured a secast transom. It turned out great I will start a different post here when I have time. Im going fishing tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you are back on the water ! I just sold my 1974 Glastron GT160 and am now down to one boat, my 1978 Manatee, which just got a face lift last week........A new paint job on the hull........ Nice and shiny now ! She was getting a little dull looking.........

Plan to do some fishing soon !
