1974 mercury 85hp power tilt trim pump

good evening I am new to the group. I have a 1974 mercury 85hp engine. 4 cyl outboard. there is no power tilt motor on it and I am having no luck finding online because I have no idea what is required or what was on it. everything I am finding is as early as 1985. if yall can give any guidance to what part numbers I need to look for or where I can find one or any help at all I would greatly appreciate it thank you so much!

Go onto the crowley marine website. They will have part numbers. You will need 2 trim cylinders, 2 power trim brackets, 4 hydraulic hoses and a trim motor/pump/reservoir that is mounted in the boat. You will also need a wiring harness.

Most of these components will only be avail used. You may want to replace the motor with a newer one with PTT, as it will likely be cheaper.

A replacement PTT motor is a possibility, however, that is not how I read his posting.

thank you for answering, I appreciate it. I was told I just need the tilt motor and reservoir everything else Is there is what im being told. is that website still a good place to look? or does this new information change things?

i cannot find anything on the website for my 1974 the earliest they have is 1984 for power trim etc..

They do have a 1974 Merc 850, but either PT was not offered, or it was an option not shown on the parts list.

Here is a parts list for a '77 Merc 115 with PT. It shouldbe the same as you need,
