I am not sure what you will find, but I made assumptions. I couldn't find a '74 55 hp, but the earliest a 55hp is '76. So taking some liberties, I checked on that model.<br /><br />The original part (173262) was superceded to 174231, but became NLA in 2001. It must not have been a very common item, as we never stocked any of these caps. However, there is still hope for an entire trim ram. Just so you know, the cap assy was $126 USD last time that part was current. So it will not be the cheapest thing to find. You may have better luck buying a used trim cylinder and stripping it down.<br /><br />HTH,
