kay, I'm fairly new here so hang in there with me... Four years ago I bought and restored a 1974 24CC Robalo. She's a great boat and has only been on the water since September of 05. Her floor had once inch thick solid plywood under layers and layers of fiberglass laid by her previous owner. The plywood looked like it was brand new when we cut into it so we went ahead with the restoration. We replaced the transom with starboard, repowered her with a Yamaha, put in a new fuel tank, centerconsole, t-top, hydraulic steering, electronics... you get the point.
We went out Saturday and I noticed "movement" of the port side gunnel. This boat is solid foam filled and the gunnels are 6-8 inches thick. We are positive because the only thing that was in the gunnel was the fuel inlet hose which was removed and foamed in as well. This area actually, about 3 feet wide by 2 feet high, seemed to pulsate as we pounded the water. No where else on the boat does this happen. I checked the hull when we got home and it is fine! It is a little soft to the touch on the inside of this area, to the left and right are solid. I have never seen anything like this and it was a little un-nerving heading offshore in rough water as we have done many times before but never seeing this. Any suggestions?
