Hello All,

I recently purchased this boat and am planning on making her sound and pretty, in that order.

I guess a first post and pic's are my goal today, just looking on some basic input and/or tips for this project.

The boat: 1974 Starcraft Holiday 18, recently gutted and a new floor/deck installed by previous owner. I'm not sure if flotation was used or not (sure hoping so!) The seats are just sitting there. The dash area is covered by new carpet but will soon be removed and re built. The steering and controls all work pretty well it seems and all the gauges work except the trim gauge.

The motor: 1974 Mercruiser 120 (Chevy i hear) no # at this time. It runs well, and the drive seems in good shape also. I replaced the exhaust bellows as they were torn (pretty big *** pain for sure!) New oil, filter, plugs, wires, points kit, water pump kit, As far as it looks it's ready for a water test!

Here are some pics of what she looked like when I backed her in to the driveway the first time hope they come through.

I plan on carpet/floor coating, trailer and boat paint jobs, new seats through out (floor plan ideas would be great for fishing/rec. purposes) and other trim accessories. Pretty much plan on using the boat and dialing it in as we go.

Thanks for any input!:)

Many of us set up photobucket.com accounts and then link the images to our posts. See mine to see how it works.

Welcome to the SCers.

Welcome to the Starcraft club!

You seem to have posting photos down. Now please resize them on photobucket to 640x480. You won't have to update anything on here. Thanks.

Nice looking boat.

Bond-o,

Should I re size smaller??? I agree side scrolling is a needless pain but it seems to be ok on this end (no side scroll necc.)

discojimmie, nice looking boat you got there. I'm still in the process of finding my Starcraft. I almost got a Holiday like yours.

As for the pictures, the size is fine, but to get rid of the horizontal scrolling edit your post you should see some tags like [ img ] http://link [ /img ] [ img ] http://link [ /img ] . Just hit enter bewtween those so it looks like this
[ img ] http://link [ /img ]
[ img ] http://link [ /img ]
That should fix the problem and make it a bit more readable.

Great looking ride there, DJ. You should be able to get lots of help here. Also check out the Starcraft section. Oh, by the way, these Starcrafts seem to take off from trailers. They like to run in fields. Make sure it's connected to your vehicle very secure. The boat forum is thinking to rename them UFS's. Unidentified Flying Starcrafts. (Sorry Kev).

Ok people, enough bad advice on the photos. As I stated earlier, you will NOT need to do ANYTHING on the iboats end. You simply need to resize your pics to 640x480 on photobucket. You can easily do this with 1 click on each picture. You can also set up photobucket to automatically resize your pics in the future to that size which is quite handy.

Thanks all!

I'll try hitting the enter key between pic's and get some more up as soon as the weather gets a little better.

I'm going with the light sand then prime bare aluminum w/ zinc cromate primer followed by good ole Rustoleum for the boat paint. Any issues with this method?

Thanks All!
