This motor is getting gas, has new plugs gapped and spark is correct also has great compression in both cylinders yet it wont start. Had it running a few weeks ago an ran fine for about an hour. Tried taking her out a week later and she started but wouldnt stay running, would stall out putting it in forward or reverse. New carb kits put in both carbs yesterday and still nothing! Wont start at all. I appriciate any advise i could get, thank you!

Well, you have checked the basics; fuel, compression, and spark. If your compression is good, and you are sure fuel is getting into the cylinder, and you are sure the motor is sparking, it should start. I will assume you have done those tests with the proper tools (Air-gap spark tester, spark jumps a 7/16" gap, compression tester showing 100+ PSI on both cylinders). A couple of things I can suggest; try spraying pre-mix directly into the carb throat and see if the motor tries to start. If it does, you have a fuel delivery problem. Look to your fuel lines or possibly a stuck needle valve. If it is not trying to start with the pre-mix sprayed into the carb throat, then you might possibly have a timing issue. Verify your timing and/or that you haven't crossed up the spark plug wires.

Good luck

Thanks so much for your quick response!
All tests were done properly yes and as you said the spark is right and comppression is as you say it should be. Ive tried putting premix in the neck of the carb and nothing. You say timing issue? How would i check for a timing issue? Are there other things i can try along with timing issue? Thanks so much...
