Some kits, (carb, fuel pump, water pump, etc) are universal in that they fit more than one model. You will often have left over parts that would have been used in a different model, so don't be alarmed if you have more parts in a kit than what is necessary for your rebuild.

Be sure to unscrew the brass seat. My carbs on a merc 70 HP have a small copper washer. Just check and make sure this part does not belong there under the seat also Check that there is no gunk and or fuel line chips in the inlet port that could block flow. It would take a bit more time but it would be better than finding it out later after reinstalling the carb. True carb kits come with other parts for other carbs in the same kit so if it dosen,t appear to fit any where. Set it in the draw with the other Misc stuff that may come in handy in the future for something eles.
