Ayuh,.... If it's Mercruiser on 1 end, 'n Volvo on the other, it's a Cobbed up piece of Poo....

Re: 1975 chriscraft patrs, pleasure or run

Well i am the proud owner of a new chriscraft tri hull,

here are some of the pics of the interior i thinks its a really nice boat intereior looks good just needs some chains to keep the engine bay hood from falling over back those hings are way to small and i dont know why a volvo out drive is so bad i hear there actually pretty good and i already know i like this smaller boat (no wood floorss yess) and like the 140 so please give some details on why this is bad thanks

Never seen a trihull chris craft in my lifetime. Whatever it is, the floor will still have wood in it, but it looks like it is all glass interior, which may have, but probably didn't keep the wood from rotting from wet foam over the years. Any soft spots?

Nothing wrong with a Volvo Penta outdrive, but if the motor is a MerCruiser, that means one or both isn't original to the boat. Might be a cobbled-together mess. Or not.

Here are some things missing from your posts: .........................

no soft spots the boat has been out of water since 07 the marina bought as gonna be rental boat but never really got it running just dumped parts on the engine and quit in 09 when they put it u for sale everything seems real firm just needs the gel goat sanded and add a layer

Sorry man, not trying to deter you, but that boat looks like it needs alot of work. The gelcoat may come back to life with some wet sanding love, but the spider cracks tell another story. Just because it has been out of the water means nothing. Alot of boats that sit on land not being used collect water and bugs, sometimes even termites. All I am saying is plan for the worse and hopefully it turns out better.

Its an old boat and was probably foam filled, most foam filled boats from that era will have some rott somewhere. Good luck.

ya thats already what my plan is, see the way i look at it is if there is more then meets the eye then ill take the parts and run and then drop the boat off at the junk yard and sell a decent trailer for 500 then i have almost all my investment back while saving money on some expensive parts i.e.
Manifold 400-600
oil pan 150-300
head 400-500
block 200-300
carb etc etc etc so see thats the only reason i can justify taking it on such a cheap price an honestly the boat seems pretty light im able to lift the bow up a lil (then again this is like 400 pounds lighter then my current tri hull)

Re: 1975 chriscraft patrs, pleasure or run

Thats great news man! I was about to say with it being all fiberglass inside, it could be in pretty good shape because its self bailing right? Anyway, sounds good man, look forward to the pics. I would have to get out some 3m compound and see how that blue is going to shine right away. I bet it will shine right up. Good luck.

By the way, did you ever find out if it was a Chris Craft? Definately curious about who made it.
