Is it mine, or do all Chrysler's not have a "telltale?"I've checked with the mouse ears and in a large cooler, and haven't seen one. I've checked the water pump is working. My neighbor said i have to let it run enough for the thermostat to open? Is this correct?

No tell tales on Force/Chrysler.
You can install one if needed???
On the top of the head, there's a slotted screw, if you can remove
this screw you can install an elbow and hose and then you'll have a
tell tale.

Your neighbor's right the thermo opens and water flows.
Some motors have a bypass that allows water to exit through the holes in the mid section and the snout.
The thermo controls the flow through the engine keeping it at a
predetermined temperature.
Yours is a 130d thermostat.

Thank you very much for explaining this for me. I'm just trying to be as safe and responsible boat owner.

Search Wickware and you should find Pics and info where I installed "A Tell/Tell on my 35HP Chrysler that worked very good. I'll try and glance back in a day or so to see if this is an active project. My 1968 35 HP Chrysler has been in a holing pattern since 2014 due to my health and safety. There is hope that I will get some local "Safe" fishing in "Again". I enjoyed my years of sharing and will clarify any info of mine not clear on the 35 - 55HP Chrysler.
