1975 Evinrude 115

I have a 1975 Evinrude 115 with power tilt/trim
Last weekend when the motor was tilted up I noticed the it was
a little lopsided.
When I took the foot in my hand and tilted it up there was play on the right
side bushing that the motor tilts on.
Do I need to remove the mounting bracket off the motor to change these.or
can I just remove the motor from the boat and tilt the bracket out .

Easier to simply disconnect the steering if necessary and remove the transom bracket that has the worn bushing.

Just be sure to support the engine in a full tilted position so that it cannot fall or slide sideways in the direction you'rre working on.
