I drill a hole in the carburetor so that the broken tip of the needle can be pushed out with a wee pin.-----Then plug the drilled hole with a screw or JB weld.

Thanks racerone, I was thinking about that, but it looks like the PO tried to hit it out with something already and the carb body around the tip of the needle is scratched up and indented, not even sure it would be any good anymore even if I was able to get the tip out... I'll pull it back off the motor tonight and take a picture to show you what I'm talking about...

The inside where the needle meters the fuel is important.---Not what shows in the mixing chamber.

Well its definitely worth a shot since I've already considered it done for, so I may as well give it a try.

What kind of pin do you typically use?

I am trying to think of something small and point but strong enough to go from one side of the mixing chamber at the needle, out through the hole I'll be making and not bend with some taps from a hammer...
