Hey everybody I am finally rounding up my restoration of my 1974 arrowglass tri hull.I have decided to convert from the 6 gallon portable fuel tanks to a 15 gallon permanent tank with a filler cap and dash mounted gauge. I purchased a 15 gallon aluminum tank and have on order the sending unit, gauge, and gas cap. I just want to make sure everything is going to work ok if i just re-use the original style primer bulb omc hose. The new tank has a vent that connects to the gas cap. Thanks

if it worked before than it should still work though if you put the tank under the deck or increase the length of the hose you might have to increase the diameter of the hose to decrease flow resistance.

Make sure the tank has a anti-siphon valve at the fuel outlet. When you have to order a sender for the guage, it made me wonder if this valve was in place. With out it. If the fuel hose should crack, or break you would have a boat full of gas.

Thanks guys!!! One more question.. I read somewhere that not all older outboards had fuel pumps and thats why the 6 gallon tanks are pressurized. I don't really know much about gas tanks as you can tell lol. So will the primer bulb on the fuel line still pump and get firm. The new 15 gal aluminum tank will be in the same place as the old 6 gallon tanks were. I just want to make sure I am not spending all this money for nothing. Thanks alot!
