Remove the airbox cover and engage the choke. Make sure the choke plates are closing all the way. Turn the motor over and verify that they're staying closed. If not, drop the choke solenoid down 1/4" and try it again.

The cover on the fronts of the carburetors is referred to as an air box or air silencer cover.

I know its been a while, but I do not have a air silencer cover. Also I rebuilt my carbs and took it out, ran like a dream, then looked down and noticed that the screw has vibrated out of the choke control? (on bottom carb that opens and closes the flaps on front. Whats the easiest way to linc and sync?

There is nothing to adjust in the carburetors because they are all fixed jets.

You should use a factory service manual to set the linkage to and between the carburetors. It's all covered in section 3 of the factory service manual.

Used: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1975...90050904316QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature

New: http://www.outboardbooks.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=search.main

The primary concern is that the throttle plates are 100% synchronized so that they move together precisely and at the correct time.

The choke plates need to close 100% and stay 100% closed when cranking for a cold start.
