please help. My 1975 johnson ob 2v 50 hp motor has been sitting 4 years. Ran good 4 years ago. Every thing seems ok except Can only fire it up with starting fluid on the plugs and runs only a couple of seconds until fluid burns off, but is strong and fires good. Also will fire if I pump bulb from tank 10 times real hard because the bulb has no give as if it is plugged, but inspected all fuel hoses and filter on pump and with last hose off just before going into bottom carb, fuel easily spirts out of here when bulb is depressed as it does with other hoses off at any point in the line from tank to this last carb. Looking into the carbs after pumping fuel bulb 10 times I can see a small amount of gas in the bottom carb only and the top carb is dry. It will fire for a cou[ple of seconds with the fuel in the bottom carb if i pump the fuel bulb 10 hard times or more. What could be wrong. and how do I know if the fuel pump is working properly or if the carbs are working properly. I have tried to pump the fuel bulb as the motor fires to keep it running but the bulb is so tight when depressed that this doesnt work either. One last q. In a good working engine like this should I be able to see gas shooting into the carb when I depress the fuel bulb. thanks for any suggestions
