I have a 1975 115 Johnson Motor, Completely original except, a new starter, power pack, and water pump replacement every 5 years. Runs great, except twice in the last month it has died on me. First time I didn't know what happening except it didn't seem like it wasn't getting gas. Switched to my 2nd tank and it started again. Used the boat a few more times no problem. Last weekend same thing happened again running at about 3500rpm.
I don't see anything that looks like a fuel pump.
Does this motor have a fuel pump?

Thanks

Tom

Re: 1975 Johnson Fuel Pump

on the right side of the carbs is a five sided piece that has hoses going to oand from it. it is your fuel pump. there are three hoses, one is the fuelin from the tank , one is fuel out to the carbs and one is a vacuum hose that uses crankcase vacuum to actuate the diaphram. usually a fuel pump isn't temperamental, they work or they dontone way to know is to remove the fuel line to the carbs and crank over see if gas pumps out.
