I have used my 1975 Evinrude 9.9 last season and it runs like a top. As winter is here and I am lubing and cleaning up the motor (still a rookie) I noticed that the shift lock lever is not in the proper notch for forward, neutral and reverse. As shown in attached photo?the motor is in neutral but the shift lever is in the wrong notch. Can anyone educate me on how to fix this or should I just leave well enough alone? I really would like to make it ?right?.
