Hello experienced fixer uppers. I got a free boat that I received when I bought a 1975 Sears Ted Williams 9.9hp. This is my 4th Ted Williams motor throughout my life and I just love them. But the boat has my eye, and I would love to fix it to make it a set. I've also bought a Ted Williams trolling motor to go with it. Anyways the boat is starting to crack all over. I've done quite a bit of fiberglass work in my time so I'm confident on repairing that. What I'm not so sure about is a crack that appeared when we had a bad storm. I'll post pictures, I just really would like to complete the "set" here.

Whatever is under all that fiberglass is rotten, sorry to say. Drill a few test holes, but expect the worst. Is the outside hull cracked? The whole boat looks kind of twisted to my eyes....

It may just be the angle of the pictures giving it that twisted look but it doesn't look twisted in person. As far as material goes the outside seems to be fiber class painted over. A fiberglass appears to appear to be very thin. But underneath seems to be just foam. I checked a few locations inside and out and everywhere I only see foam.

I'm not really familiar with that make of boat, so i'd rather not give advice and tell you something wrong. I'm sure there are people here that will know if you can get them to respond. Good luck!

Looks sort of like freeze damage to those compartments. Filled w rain/snow and expanded....

Thise cracks expose what is probably a foam cored hull to the elements.

No telling if its good or bad from here. Weather exposed foam cores dont fair well.

Seem heavy for its size?

Here any slooshing when you tip it over?

Water leak out of drain plug when removed?

Doesn't seem heavy, no sloshing or water leaking out. I think it's an ABF material, kinda like plastic.
