Hi im new to ibb and have a few questions about my 1975 silverline. I was plaining just to repair the motor to find out there was more to repair. This boat needs tlc with transome rotted and the floor under the motor is punky and rotted, but the rest of the floor seems to be solid. The out side of the boat looks great just the inside. I got the boat and trail for 300 bucks and i figured i was at least going to throw about 2 grand at it. So here comes my question is this boat worth fixing or could i find something better?

hi....welcome to i boats :)

need pics

get the motor running before you start the tear down of the hull......if that motor is scrap....it is not worth it.

unless you really like the boat and WANT A PROJECT.

you could sell the trailer and working motor parts and some hull parts for around a grand...and be well on your way with a newer hull that you like more.

Its a 17' Comoro with a 140 hp i/o. I know i can get the motor running just i have no clue how to do the transome of the boat without cutting the top fiber glass piece above the motor, also how to you tell if the out drive is good or not?? I will have pic's up this week end.

Re: 1975 silver line

Getting some information this week and hopfully starting on her this weekend.. I will take some photo's and talk about my progress as this old boat will slowly come alive :p. She'll get done one way or the other but this silverline will meet the water by next summer hopfully if all goes well
