Is there a carb. float that may be stuck that is making it basically impossible to start. Have had conflicting suggestions re: "quick start". Tend to believe that it has no lub. in it, there fore not good for a 2 stroke. When engine does run, it runs quite well in driveway w/ ears. My feeling is to drop it in the water and give it a good blowing out, not full speed but a good run. Carb rebuild to be done during winter months. For now want the boat in the water & yell "yee haa"! Thank you in advance for your help. Awesome site & tell all my friends how benificial it is to us, "The Weekend Warriors":)

Cold start:

Starter must turn the engine at 250 RPM minimum to fire; this requires a powerful, fully charged battery and excellent connections;

The warmup lever advances the timing and must be used for a cold start; if your remote control lacks this facility, learn how to override the lockout so that you can advance the throttle arm while out of gear;

You must engage the choke switch and keep the choke plates 100% closed while cranking. You should visually confirm that the choke plates are staying tightly closed while cranking.
