ok, i tried the search button, thinking this would be REALLY easy.... nope<br /><br />NUMER ONE:<br />where in the crap are my idle mixture screws or is this motor "fixxed"<br /><br />i have the carbs removed and am in the proccess of taking apart and cleaning really good and have not been able to find them.<br /><br />NUMBER TWO:<br /><br />is it necessary to remove the powerhead in order to replace the reed valves?<br /><br />mike<br /><br />ps, yes, my manual is on order

Idle orifices. They are to the rear of the carb and just above the mate line of the float bowl....behind a screw plug.<br /><br />Don't think ya' need to remove the head for reed service.....plenty room.

P<br />pull the intake and the carbs all in one step<br />remove trottle cam<br />ten screws then two from lower pan then remove your four plate assm's

I'm lost here! are you the guy telling us about OMC V-4's, versus Merc. in-line six's! Now you are looking for the idle screw's. Idle screw's can be adjusted with a screw driver! Fixed jet's cannot. This is a Johnson " Rule of thumb", of which you should have two.

laddiesservice is correct in that all of the jets are fixed and that you can replace the reed valves without pulling the powerhead. ??

laddie, yep. <br /><br />although, i wouldnt really call them " problems"<br /><br />i have a omc shop manual and parts manual ordered , but had a few simple questions.<br /><br />thanks to all who responded
