Hello everyone, I am a brand new boat owner. I purchased this 77 Astroglass 17'6" from my grandfather. I have 3 questions.
1. with a 76 evinrude 4cyl 2 stroke, what do i mix my gas and oil at?
2. can anyone give me an idea of the model number for this boat so that i can buy a cover?
3. when i use the trim/tilt switch, the motor will go up and then slowly lower. It will not go up enough to get the transim saver under it either. I have checked the fluid level and added to the pump, i think it is leaking out of the top of the shock? as you are looking at the back of the boat it is the one on the right. i can't find a hose going to the one on the left. thanks, Kevin

Re: 1976-135hp trim/tilt problems

First thing you will need is a model specific service manual. It will cover just about everything you need to keep your motor running. There is one on Ebay right now: go to Ebay.com and enter "4622770409" at the search window.

Mix the oil and gas in the fuel tank. 50:1, 87US Octane to TCW3 oil.

The model number should be on a 1" X 3" plate on the port side transom bracket. If the plate is missing look on top of the port side cylinders for a quarter sized welch plug.

Re: 1976-135hp trim/tilt problems

You are welcome. The parts for your motor are listed in the BRP parts manuals at:

Copy the link to your browser without the quotation marks and then bookmark it, it will work better.

You can enlarge and print the diagrams. If you right mouse on the various parts lists you can download them to Excel.

If you have a problem finding a good cover, email me, I know where a couple may be.

Re: 1976-135hp trim/tilt problems

That's because it is a 1975 model # not 1976.

Don't worry, they are almost identical, and the 76 service manual is better than the 75.
