Why not go all the way and pour foam all over this to hold all that garbage together. I'll bet you can find some room for a couple noodles.

Yah, it's not all set yet. I just kinda tossed that in there. I'll arrange it a little more carefully and fit in some noodle scraps in the voids.

Painted and installed...

I would suggest you remove those bolts and install some thick washers behind those bolts. Since That backer is only wood, if you pull hard on the eye bolt, i can see those bolts sinking into the wood. Looks friggin GREAT man.

What? Sinking the Islander, then refloating it by pumping ping pong balls into it?

TII

Nah, not the Islander. Maybe we could try that with one of the glass rigs around here so if it doesn't work it wouldn't be a real loss ya know.:p:D

Sweet! Looking forward to it!!:D

AAaaaaaaactually, you can't quite see it in that photo there (kinda blends in) but it has a double washer. You know, one that goes through both shanks of the U bolt. For that to pull through, the bow Islander would likely be tore off first. That would be a real bummer.

Cheers guys!

Not to beat the floatation issue but Jas you started!
I have THE solution. Just found a cheap supply of packaging peanuts. Cheapy cheap and the cool thing is that the supplier claims they're eco friendly....BONUS!!!!!!!

Oh...Nice bow eye.

Yah, I considered that too. I actually ran a quick test on those packing peanuts and they tend to soak up water. I am pretty happy with those containers up front there, that is a ton of flotation. Way more than what came from Starcraft. Like I mentioned before though, I'd pass on containers sub deck as they are just a paint to fit. That big open space in the bow is a good spot for em though. I just need to fit em a little and fill in with small stuff.

Thanks! Yah, I really like that new bow eye.:)

And, yanked out of a glasser, even better;):D

I know bro, my sarcasm, joking, and serious rebuild ideas are all a bit of a gray area. They sort of blend ya know:eek:

Serious note though....

Pong balls for flotation! A big Chief would be a great candidate if you could find a truck load of em cheap!;):D

Can you just imagine how that would sound trailering down a bumpy road?

OK guys, if any of you have your ears on real quick. I was planning on building a swim platform this winter. Well, this just popped up and I am planning to go take a gander at it in about an hour...

Thoughts?

Opinions?

Yah, I'll need to do just a little carpentry work to make it fit my rig - no biggie.:D

Is there a kicker motor in your plans? I don't think you have room for both.

Man, look at that. You guys are brilliant! Same time, same thought! Too bad I didn't think of it:facepalm:

Well, I was going to build in a kicker bracket - spose I could swing something similar on this one. It has to work right and look good though with that teak!

Hmmmmmmm, thinking....

You guys rock!
