I just swapped a lower unit from a 73 50 hp evinrude Lark to this 55 hp motor. Now forward is reverse. When the lever is all the way forward, the shift rod is up and it turns backwards. What did I do when I put this lower unit on. The on I took off works OK, They surely wouldn't turn different directions would they? I rotate the flywheel with it in forward and the prop turns counterclockwise.
One is from a 3" case prop and the one I put on is a 4" case prop.
