1976 Evinrude 6 hp impeller

Went to replace the impeller on a 6604A and the one installed doesn't match the replacement parts for that year. It kinda looks like maybe a 1979 kit was installed. Is this common? How do I tell for sure?

I see nobody wanted to tackle this. Turns out it was a 1979 water pump kit installed in a 1976. Now I know anyway.
