1976 evinrude 85 hp idle screws??

hi guys! just servicing my carbs and just after some advice on the re assembly of them post cleaning and inspection. the idle screws, how far in are the screwed? and what does the little needle valve assembly acutuly do in a carb?? any thing else i should be aware of??? thanks

The needle and valve assemby regulates dilivery of fuel to the engine. not sure about the idle screws for that particular model. There are other post about adjusting idle screws, howevr if tooling on your engine do the reshearch first. I have learned this the hard way so to speak. A original manual is your best bet.

Hold on there, Matt. A 1976 85hp does not have idle needle valves (thank god). Are we missing something here?
