1976 General Marine Ranger 18' Boat Help

Looking to purchase this fixer upper boat. I cannot find any information anywhere on this boat. HIN indicates it was built in 1976 by General Marine and it has a "Ranger" emblem on the sides. Volvo penta 280 w/ Ford 302. Is this a good boat to restore or is it a headache?

welcome to i boats....this is boat university....so your in the right place....

there were lots of boat builders back then...lots of builders buing mold form one another then rinning off 100 units and selling that mold. and buying another.....so your boat could be anything

.google them.....or check in at fiberglassics .com

chances are the boat you mentioned is no worse or better than any other resto....just make sure you know what to expect...if you dont like to work hard or dont have the time or money.....go to the next one if this ones rough...

most parts can be had aftermarket....make sure the windsheild frame is good...there harder to get.....

but all in all....if you wanna have a project...its really rewarding.....just get a boat grab a grinder, and join us in the resto section of this forum

what are the damage you are trying to fix? motor, deck, hull, transom, etc...
