I am currently changing my outboard glastron to inboard. Im putting in a volvo penta 250 4 cyl. Has someone done this before? If so what design is best for the motor blocks that get glassed in the boat? I have heard that the motor will run smooth and you wouldn't even know it is back there.Aposed to an outboard. Do yall think it will be a good setup. I bought a 19 foot invader for 50 dollars because the guy told me the motor was locked up so I brought it home tried to unlock it for 2 days so I decided to take the starter off and when I did I found out that it was froze solid with rust. So after that I found out that the starter was the only thing that was holding the motor. It wasn't locked at all so I got a great deal with no title. But its worth it for all the running gear. It's got a volvo 4 cyl 250 and a volvo penta drive and it has a closed cooling system.

Its the holiday season....we're saving the negative comments until January ...lol :)

I personally think that boat is a little small for an i/o, and surely you'll have to consider hull strength integrity. Sounds like a pioneering adventure for sure. Doesn't matter what other's think....if it is something you want to do then just be cautious and safe and post lots of pics. Good luck.

THANKS it is a little small but I think the boat would run sweet with the inboard. I guess I will have to put the gas tank in the front to even out the weight some I hope. The boat should fly being so small. Or it may just sink:eek: I hope not. But it is worth the try. If it doesn't work out I will just glass the boat back to the way it was.

I tried to bring myself to cut the transom but I just cant. I had the sawsall in my hand this weekend and just could't do it. I have hade this boat for about four years when I bought it I paid the man 500 dollars for the gt with the trailer and no motor. I had to replace the floor the stringers and transom. The guy thought it was junk but I brought her back. Im going to leave her as an outboard I have a 40 yamaha which I had on the boat before this madness it pushed the 15 ft boat real good.:)

Forget about the inboard thing ! You will be opening up a can of worms ! I know a few years back on Glastron classics ? Someone did it and nothing but troubles and a very poor handling boat.
Get yourself a 90 hp or a 115 hp and enjoy your ride !
Back when we had the Gt 150 we firts had a 70 hpo and it did near 42 mph the 110 hp did near 54 mph and was a blast to ride !
