I am having trouble removing the lower unit to change the impeller. Does anyone have a picture diagram on how to change it. Any help will be great. Thanks

Put in rev.You remove the 6 bolts that hold the lower on.it will seperate about 1/2 inch. Then look in the 1/2 space for the 2 bolts that hold the shift shafts together.Remove the bottom one cause its easier. Then after the shift shaft bolt is totally removed.Pull lower off.At bottom of driveshaft will be the waterpum housing.Remove the 4 bolts that hold it.Replace impeller and the parts like plate and housing if badly worn. When installing shift back in shaft coupler be sure the slot on the shiftshaft is inline with the bolthole you need screw into .If it wont go in,you can open the coupler with a large screwdriver but not too much reverse from there

You will find articles by the "machinist" in the FAQ part of this forum. He is an expert on the 9.9 and 15 omc outboards.(and other models too I would expect) His articles have all the pictures and explanations you will require. It is a must read for a 9.9 owner. Beyond that you must get a factory manual. Rick.
