I drained the lower unit fluid to see it was milky. I have rebuilt the powerhead with a new piston, rings, different rod, and needle bearings. I also did the carb and pull-starter. It runs good considering I'm a first-timer with a Seloc manual. My question is: I need to repair the water entering the lower unit problem and don't know if it requires a complete lower unit rebuild, or how hard the work would be to correct the problem in comparison to what I have already done to it. This motor will probably be used a couple times a month and is kept out of water. Should I even bother fixing it, or just change the fluid more frequently?
