I bought a 1973 hydrostream vector to restore and it has a 1976 175 hp black max merc on it. The engine has had some preformance tuning done to it, and the lower part of the enging is the racing type. The origional exhaust has been blocked, and the new exhaust is below the water line. When i started it with bunny ears yesterday, there was a small blue jet flame coming from the exhaust port. It this normal for that type of engine setup, or do i have a timing, or spark plug problem. I think it may have been a bit flooded before i got it to start. Any suggestions?
