1976 mercruiser 140 carb

Hey guys. I picked up a 1976 Silverline Comoro 17T boat with a 4 cylinder 140 hp mercruiser in it and I’m in need of a carb. The small base Rochester 2gc that’s on it is trashed.

Any budget conscious options that you guys know of? I’m ok with a used one as long as it’s not trashed. Found a could on a eBay but 130 for a used carb is high in my opinion.

Also, my local mercury dealer ran the serial number for my outdrive and said it’s been outdated, is it possible one of you could help me out as to what model outdrive I got?

Outdrive Serial number is 4442537
Motor serial number is 4480605

Ayuh,....... I don't have an ole carb laying around, 'n sellin' or buyin' ain't allowed in the forums, anyways,.......
Others will know where to look for what you need,....
No chance of rebuildin' the old one,..??..??

I'm guessing you have an ole MC-1 drive, as I believe the MC-0 predates yer boat,.....

The inside of the carb is pitted up real bad and there still white powdery crusty crap in carb I can’t get out of passages but can see. Just feel it’s a better option to get a different carb.

I found a place on ebay that has a new 2bbl UNPAINTED inside and out for under$96 Can pm the item number if your interested, I purchased 2 so far and work perfectly

I’ve purchased a couple Chinese Amazon carbs and they seem to work fine. One was a Mercarb. I think Thundermingo or something like that was the brand. It ran a 3.0L just fine. Not the best quality but it did work

I ordered one of those but they have the large base and I need the small base.( intake to carb bolt pattern) I believe when mercruiser went to the TKs system, they started using the large base and that seems to be what everyone’s cloning
