I have a 77' 115 evinrude that I recently purchased. I took it to the lake and after about 5 minutes the temperature buzzer started to sound off. I have a clymer manual for the motor and I assume the impeller needs replacement. I looked over the manual for this procedure and it doesn't look to difficult to do myself. If anyone has any pointers, suggestions, or tips on this procedure such info would be much appreciated.

pjw

The shift linkage (under the bottom carb) is easier to disconnect if the engine is in reverse when you start working on it.

Replace the entire water pump kit, not just the impeller.

DJ,

I appreciate the info and I just so happened to purchase the whole water pump kit rather than just the impeller by itself. I am nearly ready to attempt the task athand!

Thanks,

pjw

Hi pjw

Good luck with your waterpump job. Let us know how it goes.

It might be a good idea to check out the thermostats and poppet valves while you're at it, as this engine is new to you.

Steve
