There have been two methods and you mentioned boat. Deck screws or rivets. I'm sure the rivet camp would claim them superior and they probably are. However, I used deck screws on both my SC projects and was pleased with how they worked.

Ok, thanks Ez. I thought I would use screws since it would be easier to install and just seal them up really well. I'll price both of them out too and see which is cheaper. I thought screws were cheaper, but I need to double check.
