I bought a boat with 115ETL77 on the mount plate ID tag. While asking some questions about a water pump question on a FB group I was informed by the group members that the powerhead is not a 115 but a 135 becase of the rear exhaust hump. Nothing looks touched on this motor bolt heads etc. So I am posting a pic for help with ID.

It is painted white and that would make it a 77 model 140 HP block or newer I say.------Yes the bubble exhaust is used on the 135 / 140 models.-----But it is easy to install that on a 115 HP block.------Or perhaps the powerhead was replaced.-----Is serial # on block the same as on the transom bracket ?

The paint looks to be original/untouched. Bolts heads are still paint sealed. I dont know where the serial number is on the block.

You need to look for the number.----Perhaps hidden on top of the block.----I can't find the # for you from here.

Look for rounded aluminum caps about the size of a quarter -- if painted over, assume a PO repainted the powerhead.

Thanks I think there is one of those caps on the top of the left cylinder bank, it is under the aluminum bracket that holds the coil packs. I will have to remove to access. It is painted over.

I do not think that disc was painted over when a 77 model 115 left the factory.-----See post # 2 on my thoughts here.
