OK so I have a 1977 champion bass boat, has a mercury 850 thunderboalt motor. I have alot of questions and things id like to know so please bear with me. I need to carpet the boat and want to do it right any sugestions? I also need a windshield but am not going to pay $100 for it can i just take it off? I sanded the boat and it looks really good but i want to get a clear coat any suggestions to keep the shine?

The bow eye has seperated from the bow and it still holds the boat on trailer but it is loose and I dont have access to the inside side of it?

The pedistal seat poles are larger diamater than the ones i could find does any one know where I can get the right sized pedistal poles for this model?

If i need to repair the floor how expensive is that and what do i need to do? plywood with latex sealer or do I actually need to fiberglass over the plywood? thank you guys for your time!

Also my boat was a wireing nightmare so i re wired its much better now

When I see "carpet the boat" and "repair the floor" I get all kinds of red flags. If it were my boat I'd stop and pull up the section of floor before spending another minute or another dime. Since floors normally rot from the bottom up a weak floor is a strong indicator of rot in the stringers and possibly the transom.

Not much else to add to the crabs comments above. My 2 bits, a 36 year old boat rarely just needs new carpet and there are a ton of threads here to read about others digging into their old glass boats.

Star tearing into the decks and you'll see straight away what you need to do in order to do it right.
