I have a 1977 Checkmate Convincer, I believe with a Stringer outdrive. I do know it has electric shift. I'm pretty confident it doesn't have the electronic shift assist as I've read they are two different things.
I am interested in putting the Pertronix Ignitor II and Flamethrower coil in the boat, but curious will this mess with the electric shift in any way? Upgrading from an Accel 30202 dual point distributor.
I've researched and planned on removing the ballast resistor when I do the upgrade.
Any thoughts and input would be appreciated.
