The entire water pump was replaced about 8 months ago. This engine has been used alot since then with out any problems. Last weekend the hot horn went off after about 1 1/2 hours of pulling the innertube. So later I dropped the lower unit and checked the impeller. Sure enough one of the fins was broken off and laying right there. I bought a new impeller and wear plate, installed and finished. But the engine continues to run hot. I took it all back apart to make sure and every thing seems to be in place. Still runs hot. There are two tubes that hook up to this pump that did not seem to be exactly the same lenght, but within 1/4". Now I have removed both heads looking for an obstruction, nothing. There is no thermastat, so that's not it. Could there something stopping up a line some where? What else can I check?

sounds to me like you either have the impeller turnining the wrong direction or your pickup tubes did'nt line up on installation. never hurts to double chek these

buckman
