Looks to be a solid boat, but that is always hard to tell from pictures. Price tag is $500 with fish locator and trolling motor. Good Deal? Thank you, Josh

Very old and that's about what she is worth. If you are local to it be certain to check the floor. Early Glastrons had problems with rotting floors. Nice boat and the color is red. Mention that because the green was the least desirable color. Go to the Glastron owners association site for info on all older Glastron hulls.

If the motor runs, absolutely. The Johnson 70 is a great motor and that one looks newer than 1977 (check the numbers). PLus you get a trailer that, if it rolls, is worth a couple bills, a trolling motor worth $100 and a fish finder maybe worth something. Anchor/gas tank/ PFD's and at worst you have a rolling yard sale.

Here's what I'd do: If the motor starts, runs and has good compression, then look at the transom. If it doesn't move when you put weight on the motor, buy it.

If there is no title, though, you will be scrapping the boat and keeping the motor. Does that work for you?

Who cares if the floor is soft? It's $500. get a couple seasons out of it and upgrade. I would not, however, spend time and $$ to rebuild but that's just me; a Glastron lover might.

Bring your own fresh gas to check the motor. I can't tell if it's a VRO so bring oil, too. And jumper cables.

You realize that for $500 there is no sea trial or survey. I recently bought a similar rig and talked the guy into givng me a week to run it on the river and return if there were major engine issues that didn't show up in the driveway.

better move quick I'm on my way. I need another 70 if I can steal it.

He said the motor runs strong on muffs. He also said the floor is solid. I had a bass boat with a 70hp Johnson just like this one and it was a good motor and I am also familiar with working on it. I figured for $500 I could but $200 in it and turn a decent profit. I am not sure if he has the title but he said that he renewed the registration on it. I know I bought my 74 70hp Johnson with a CMC tilt on it for $1300 a while back so $500 for the whole boat seemed fair to me. Thanks for the input guys.

I could not believe this price when I seen it, it would be easy to flip boats around here. I am from western Nebraska, we just moved to Minnesota, and it is hard to even find an outboard there that someone doesn't want the deed to your house for.

The engine looks it could be a 77. If it is in decent shape you could probably get more than $500 just parting the motor out. As far as the boat, well you could buy a better one and still spend same amount of money on working on it.
I got mine for $500 by the time I get done with the restore I will have put in about 3K. The thing is, if something goes wrong with it I don't have far to go to blame someone. On the plus side I will know how my boat is built and I think I can do a better job than the sloppy workmanship I saw under my deck and I've never fiberglassed before.
