I have a 1977 ranger with a 1970 hp 85 hp evinrude and on craigs list i found a 1977 glastron with the same engine so I am buying it for the engine. Anyway I like the look of the glastron. any one know anything about this boat and will the 85 hp evinrude be alright on it? I do not care about speed as I will just be using it for catfishing on the mississippi.

There's no problems with that refit. should be easy.. You already know that your going to less hp engine.

one thing good is now you have spare parts for the boat.

I'd pull all the good peices off the boat and scrap the hull (it makes a good flower bed in the front yard. Just kidding)

Looks like it might be a T166 model:

Where did you get that retro ad? That is awesome!

I'm looking at one of these tonight; might end up buying it (though I know it hasn't moved in a couple of years . . . )
