First, let me say, I'm new to this thread, and more importantly, new to boating. Just bought my first boat, a 12' Aluminum with a 1977 Johnson 9.9 HP motor.(about 2 weeks ago). Motor was running fine during 3 separate boating trips in the bay. After every trip we clean and flush the motor with the hose/earmuffs. Motor was peeing fine. Were out on boat Sunday (6/6/10). Seemed fine, a little hard to start, but ran ok. I didnt think to check if it was peeing while out. Got home and attached muffs/hose and started motor. No peeing. Didn;t know what to check so turned it off and left it. Waiting for some help. Thanks. Bob

You may have some garbage in the talltale outlet, line or fitting on the block, doesn't take much to plug them up. Try cleaning it out first, i've read that thin weedeater line works well.

Rejoice, if it has quit peeing, it's house broken! Most likely you have corrosion chunks in the block due to someone not flushing the engine in the past. This is a nuisance that will come and go, as once it starts it seems to keep flaking off oxidized chunks. Some guys drill and tap for a bigger barb fitting/elbow and put on a larger diameter pee line, this seems to reduce blockages by letting the small chunks pass through the larger line.

Ived used canned air to blow threw the exit ti the pick up. Depends on pee hole size, may need to do it with a compressor.
