1977 johnson starts but dies when taking off

i have a 1977 johnson. the carbs have been cleaned and the plugs have a nice tan color. the problem i'm having is when i start the motor using the chock it starts right up but when its warm and i try to take off or idle it down the motor dies... help please..bass are calling me.
