1977 johson

i have just re-wired the ignition on my 1977 ,55 horse power johson and now my chokes stay on all the time ,is it possible i have some wire in the wrong place ,any help would be very much helpfull , thanks very much for your help

Yes, you have a wire in the wrong place. Not a good idea to use guess work with wiring (fire).

There should simply be a purple/white wire leading from the "C" terminal of the ignition switch to the choke solenoid.

Unless you have the earlier 5 post switch which had the choke wired to a toggle switch instead.
