i have a question for all the experienced around here that may be reading this. i noticed after removing the drive there is a heavy amount of pitting on the lower section of the transom how would you fix this and prevent it from happening again.. also the drive is pretty nasty and corroded i assume a seal went bad the ujoint bellows was full of gear oil. thanks!

That's pretty easy. JB Weld or Marine Tex, skim coat, sand smooth, and paint it up. Just a few extra steps while you are working on the transom is all.

hmmm thats easy enough i wasnt sure if there was some kind of special aluminum prep work or something but thats easy enough thanks sir!
