Hello there I can't seem to find a way to start my own thread so ill try masking my question here. First let me say thank you for taking the time to answers my questions
I have a 1977 mercury outboard 150hp. In line 6. When I start it it idea fine and starts right up. When I go to get on plane it gets up on plane and then starts to die out like its starving for fuel it then shut a down. I start the engine again and idles fine I can then run and throttle up a little and it runs fine and bogs down a little and then you can hear and feel the engine acting like its trying to catch up like it all of the sudden gets enough fuel to be running good. I hope I'm not upsetting anyone by posting here on what seems to be a different topic.

With the age of the craft. make sure your fuel supply, from the tank, through to the engine, is solid. Any supply restriction or tank venting issue causing this issue? Is your fuel filter clean? Is the tank inlet (wherever you're drawing fuel from) clean? Make sure your fuel pump is not worn or clogged and is operational. Make sure your fuel lines to the carbs are clear/clean and not cracked or leaking.

Take the hood off the engine and look, really look, to see if any wires are rubbing on anything and may be grounding out.

Report back after.
