Can anyone post some pictures of how you put a bow mount trolling motor on your utility style alumacraft? I have a motorguide bow mount trolling motor and wanted to see if there is a clean way to install it.

Thanks,

Conrad

xsvsports..... Welcome to iboats.

So much depends on the style of motor. Some utilities accept the different motors better than others. There's foot pedal push pull cable steer, hand steer or electric steer bow motors. These could need different size mounting areas or other provisions to be optimal. Try to keep it simple if a add on base is need, not to permanently modify the boat and it could be removed someday to keep the boat as original. Some will even install a transom electric on the bow for simplicity.

My utility boats front bow casting is large that I have a quick release bracket on for a remote control electric steer motor. Half the time I will not have the motor on the boat.

Pictured is the boat, don't have a close up picture of the mount, it's just a guide plate on the bow casting when the motor is not on.

xsvsports..... I took this bow mount picture of my above pictured 1968 14' AlumaCraft. This setup works best for me and the motor goes on and off the boat fast.

Your type of trolling motor is probably different and I think the 1978 boat bow casting is smaller, so you may have to add a mounting surface to the bow of your boat for your motor.
