My restore of a 1978 22' SuperSport is almost complete. The interior is about 95% complete and the rebuilt motor should be back any day now. I am really excited to get this boat out on the water as it has been too long.

For those of you who have the GM 250 Straight 6 motor, what kind of fuel economy do you get? Also, what kind of performance do you see? I know both of these depend on how the boat is loaded and how hard you drive it but I'm just looking for some general numbers.

I will post pics of the boat when it comes back with the rebuilt motor in it.

Thanks!

Wow, I must admit I'm a big fan of the SS line from Starcraft and would love to see photos of a "22 ft" SS. That's a big boat and with incredible amount of room. Didn't know there were 22ers even made.

welcome to the mob. Elkhunter338 is the man who might know on your fuel usage Q since he runs one of those and is pretty meticulous about data collection. weight is not that different between your hull and a chieftain so their #s might also be helpful. add me to the pic requests.

OK - here is a shot of the boat out on the lake today. It is about 95% complete with just a little work on carpeting the dog house and the back seats.

Bumping an old thread... nice boat, live near pineview?

If yes you will see me on the water often

And Dozer thanks you for the heads up on that V5, and me for the chrysler sitting on the back of it. :)

Gibbles - yep I live in the Valley. Is you boat the 18' Starchief OB in your signature? If so - I'll keep an eye out for it.

Glad someone could pick up that V5 so I did not have to - almost pulled the trigger on it but I might have had to sleep in it if you know what I mean!

Yeah... ditto

And yeah that chief should be on the water in a month or 3, right now keep an eye open for the Jet, it stands out with the black nose. ;)
